From the student's point of view, admission restrictions upon entry to a higher education institution, as well as upon transition to a higher study level, should be rejected and prevented in any case.
Remove admission restrictions!
There are numerous reasons for the rejection of admission restrictions at all levels: Admission restrictions call the function of the Matura and thus the entire Swiss education system into question. They jeopardise the right to education and the free choice of studies and professions and deprive universities of democratic control by society. In the process, the principle of equal opportunities is undermined in terms of financial and social aspects. Admission restrictions continue to serve the efforts of individuals to achieve excellence, instead of promoting the next generations of students in the interest of society as a whole. Finally, admission restrictions result in universities relying on arbitrary and discriminatory selection procedures when selecting students.
